Cropped Pants make a Comeback! Or did they ever leave?

So if there is anything that I have noticed while perusing the stores for the latest fall fashion trends, it is that the cropped pants that I thought had been retired along with my middle school yearbook have made a return to the fashion scene.

This time, instead of wearing them with t-shirts and tennis shoes, they are being incorporated into business wardrobes and chic weekend wear. Now, we don't have to worry that the cropped pant will shorten our legs, because you can wear them with heels! Lastly, these types of pants are what I call an in between the seasons item. They make great transitory pieces from the late summer to the early fall.

If you prefer a more casual look, go for a pair like the Monrow Slouchy Twill Cigarette Pants from Nordstrom. Notice that the model is not wearing a pair of sneakers with these very casual pants. She wears black basket weave platform sandals such as these cagework Calvin Klein 'Chelsi' sandals:

If you're headed out to the Labor Day Barbecues at the end of this summer, try a seersucker print cropped pant like the Lauren by Ralph Lauren 'Gwen' cropped cargo pant. To spice it up, add a strappy wooded platform sandal like Coach's 'Simona' sandal shown here in Salmon/Tan.

Lastly, pair the Marc by Marc Jacobs 'Baillie' pinstripe pant with a classic black patent leather pump or spice it up with an animal print wedge like Sam Edelman's 'Katrice' sandal for casual Fridays.

High End Shoppers Avoid Gaudy Labels

So my friend E-Mailed me this NY Times Article about designer labels and how they tend to avoid the outward display of their names on the clothing and accessories. It's pretty interesting. Take a look: http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/26/business/26drill.html?_r=1&src=me&ref=business

A Polished Look: Fall Nail Polish Trends

This week I decided to actually take care of my nails and I gave myself a pedicure and manicure. But when I looked into my nail polish wardrobe, I realized that I had a wide variety of one fabulous color, pink. Pink is beautiful and feminine, but I think I want to shake up my repertoire a little bit for the upcoming fall months. My new shades will probably match the "in" colors for the season, purples, grays, and natural palettes.

Check out the natural shades by Chanel. The lighter beige color, "Django" by Chanel. The pale color makes it perfect for the work environment, and the shimmery sparkles mixed in add the necessary kick! On the left, is a darker nude color, "Inattendu" by Chanel perfect for the transition from summer into early fall!

It's a Sunglass Nation!

Sunglasses are more than a summer essential. For me, they are a year round fashion staple. You can catch me on a cold (but sunny) day in Boston with mine on. I mean what better way to hide under eye bags from that all nighter or keep the chilly winds from making you burst into tears?

I love the copper framed Sunglasses that Rihanna is wearing in this picture. They are perfect for that transition from summer into fall, and they are definitely a cute way to keep the rays and the wind out of your eyes.
